The Alternative Worship Podcast
Identity design for a new podcast exploring all things faith theology, scene and more.
—
The Alternative Worship Podcast (TAWP) is a podcast exploring all things worship and what that ‘word’ or ‘act' means to the carefully curated guests, their lives, and faith. The podcast will discuss this in detail, delving into alternative forms of worship, looking at alternative music genres and scenes. Definitions are there to be explored and with TAWP they will be explored in full, with a sense of humour and a host that doesn’t take himself too seriously.
The podcast is interested in sparking debate and getting fresh perspectives on a topic matter often associated with traditional and stuffy approaches to engaging with God. To TAWP, praise and worship is much more than what you would find on a hymn sheet—it can be loud, dark and fast. The list is endless. The list is often personal.
The studio worked with the small team at TAWP, to create an identity that is inspired by the DIY movements associated with punk and hardcore scenes from across the world. Hardcore zines, for example, were a source of inspiration for the brand wordmark. The colour palette is dark and simple, with black as the base colour, complimented with the occasional pop of colour. The identity is intended to be fun, positive, and hopefully striking, with the intention of welcoming new listeners into discussions of faith, theology and life they otherwise would not be exposed to.
